Reference filed in SC to reopen ZAB case

ISLAMABAD: Federal Secretary for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Masood Chishti on Saturday filed a reference in the Supreme Court of Pakistan to reopen the murder case of Zulifikar Ali Bhutto, former Prime Minister and founder chairman of Pakistan People's Party (PPP).

President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday accorded his approval for filing of the reference in the SC.

Presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar had said," the President enjoys powers under Article 186 of the Constitution and has signed a reference for the reopening of Bhutto's murder case".

Bhutto was the first elected prime minister of the country and was hanged in 1979.
